WIA lunch in honour of Valentina Tereshkova

On June 16th 1963 Valentina Tereshkova became the first woman to fly in space during her 3 day mission on Vostok 6. Until today 56 more women have followed in her footsteps and flew to space. According to Valentina “anyone who has spent any time in space will love it for the rest of their lives. I achieved my childhood dream of the sky”.

At our lunch we had an interesting conversation about who wants to be an astronaut, how to become an astronaut.

But also about inspirational literature, for instance the book from Sheryl Sandberg "Lean In: Women, Work, and the Will to Lead"
