Based in Vienna, Austria, the Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC) is a non-governmental organisation representing students and young space professionals to the United Nations, space agencies, industry and academia.
SGAC has permanent observer status in the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS), and was conceived at the Third United Nations Conference on the Exploration and Peaceful Uses of Space (UNISPACE-III) in Vienna in 1999. SGAC currently has a network of 4000 university students and young professionals in the space sector in over 90 countries.
