Empowering all Women, in Space and on Earth

Celebrating success: WIA-Europe awarding YOU

Too often, the achievements of women in the workplace go overlooked. Women in Aerospace Europe wants to combat this. We have two awards designed to boost a young professional’s career, or shine a spotlight on the success of an established colleague. Spread the word! Inform your network – we all know someone who deserves recognition. And who knows; maybe that person is you?

The WIA Europe Student & Young Professional Award

This accolade is on application basis. The candidate must be between 21 and 35 years old and submit an essay of no more than 1,000 words on the relevance of working or studying in the aerospace sector. The prize is a certificate and €1,000.

The WIA Europe Outstanding Achievement Award

Our Outstanding Achievement award is on nomination basis. Do you know a man or woman who has dedicated their time and effort to advancing women in the aerospace sector? Do you know someone who has contributed to major developments in our industry, whether that be engineering, science or academe? Do you have a role model or mentor, friend or colleague who you would like to see honoured? Let us know. The prize is a bespoke WIA Europe engraved statuette.

The deadline for nominations and applications is 30 September. Send them in to info@wia-europe.org. Our award committee will examine all entries during October and the award ceremony will be held in November.

We have rewritten our guidelines and rules, which will come into effect next year. This means that this is the last year the current regulations are valid, so get your nominations in now! For more information on how to apply and what is required, see our awards page.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch. Good luck to all!
