The annual IAC WIA breakfast took place on Wednesday morning, October 3 from 7:30 to 9:30 in Naples. Simonetta Di Pippo opened the breakfast and welcomed the guests and Claudia Kessler introduced the 2012 WIA grant winners; two very bright young ladies who earned WIA sponsorship to go to Naples to present their abstracts.

The keynote speaker was Enrico Saggese, President of ASI, who highlighted the importance of women in all areas of space technology. Even at this early morning time more than 50, mostly female, participants attended the breakfast. Amongst them were Christian Feichtinger, Secretary General of the IAF and his wife who is a WIA member, Berndt Feuerbacher, president of the IAF and Prof. Wörner, chair of the Board of DLR.

Altogether it was an interesting, productive morning. Thank you to those who came and to those who couldn’t – we hope to see you in 2013!
