WIA Europe Launches its Paris Chapter

« Space for Inspiration and Women Leadership »

On May 24th, WIA-E has officially launched its Paris Chapter.  The event bought together more than 100 people from space agencies, industries, research and scientific institutions, from other women networks and from the art’s world.

Simonetta di Pippo, President of WIA-E, opened the event presenting the association and its objectives.

Four speakers were invited to highlight the multiple role of Space around the theme “Space for Inspiration and Women Leadership”: Frances Westall, Astrobiologist, Director of Research, CNRS, talked about “A Geologist in Space », Simonetta presented “Space Women”, Jean-François Clervoy, ESA astronaut, shared his experience about “Flying in Space” and Richard Clar, Space Artist, talked about “Space as an Artistic Medium”.

This inaugural event was an ideal platform for WIA-E to reinforce its network, to attract new members and discuss future activities.

Fiorella Coliolo, the organiser of that event, will be the Coordinator of the WIA-E Paris Group.
