WIA-E breakfast at the United Nations/United Arab Emirates – High Level Forum

From 20 to 24 November, the first High Level Forum of the United Nations/United Arab Emirates will be organized in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The subject of this forum will be “Space as a Driver for Socio-Economic Sustainable Development”.

The First High Level Forum aims to drive debate on the role of space science and technology in fostering global development. The Forum, therefore, represents a unique opportunity for the collective space community to address the future global space governance leading up to the fiftieth anniversary of the First United Nations Conference on the Exploration and Peaceful Uses of Outer Space “UNISPACE+50” in 2018.

On the second day of the Forum, 21 NovemberWIA-Europe sponsors the Women-In-Space Breakfast which will be held from 8h00 – 8h45. Our Director of International and Institutional Relations, Christiane Lechtenboerger, will moderate this breakfast. Simonetta di Pippo, Honorary President of WIA-Europe and Director of United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs and Gale Allen, National Aeronautics and Space Administration will be key-note speakers.

Other speakers are TBC and will be announced soon.

The breakfast is open to all participants. The event designed to foster the interests of women working in space science and technology, and to advance women through initiatives and leadership development, as well as networking. Here the program of the event:
