The WIA-E Strasbourg Group was launched at International Space University (ISU) in Strasbourg last March 2016.
Leader of WIA-E Strasbourg, Danijela Ignjatovic Stupar organized on January 23, 2017, at ISU, an event dedicate to space architecture. Main speaker was Barbara Imhof, space architect, researcher and radio journalist the cofounder and co-manager of LIQUIFER Systems Group (LSG). Active member of the executive board of directors of WIA Europe and ISU Master alum from 1997.
The event started by introductory words given by Chris Welch, IAF Vice President, for education and workforce development, Professor of Space Engineering at the International Space University, where he is also Director of Masters Programs.
The event took a place at the ISU Library and was followed with a reception at Pioneer Hall of the University.
The title of event was: “Dare to leave the capsule”.
Regarding to this topic, Barbara was talking about her professional achievements, her work with LIQUIFER and how she created the path to an inter-disciplinary, multi-cultural unique company engaged in space architecture and exploration in designing our future on Earth and in space. She was also talked about the most important points in creating a gender-balanced and diverse work environment using examples of her career. She also introduced WIA-E to the public and encouraged students who are currently studying at the University to join the group, to get involved with its programs and events, and further to benefit from opportunities provided by the WIA-E.
The event gathered students who are currently pursuing their space and architectural studies at ISU and architectural school in Strasbourg.
