for our next WIA-E Leiden lunch meeting we would like to discuss the topic of cleaning up Space.
We would like to invite you for the 14th of June. We have reserved a lunch corner Aj21 room at ESTEC from 12.00 to 14.00
We have invited Michel van Pelt to give us an overview of Clean Space, ESA’s initiative for a more eco-friendly approach to space activities, ranging from alternatives to toxic substances onboard spacecraft to the prevention and even removal of space debris.
Michel van Pelt is a Cost Engineer and Concurrent Design team leader at ESTEC. He supports the ESA Clean Space Office in several studies and projects.
Michel is also an author of several popular science books of which ‘Dream Missions: Space Colonies, Nuclear Spacecraft and Other Possibilities’ of 2017 is the most recent. He is furthermore an editor and writer for the Netherlands Space Society Magazine ‘Ruimtevaart’.”
Michel’s presentation will start at 12.30. We are welcoming all members and non-members of WIA-E Leiden. We have room for about 20 participants.
