Our Corporate member NEREUS opens Summer school on ocean remote sensing sinergy

Dear WIA-E members,

we’re pleased to inform you that our Corporate member NEREUS (click here for the profile) opened registrations to Summer school on ocean remote sensing sinergy.

Read below for more information.

The 2019 “Ocean Remote Sensing Synergy” summer school sponsored by IEEE OES (Oceanic Engineering Society), GIS Bretagne Télédétection (BreTel) and Copernicus Academy will take place on 1-5 July (Logonna-Daoulas, France) and it will focus on the synergy between satellite observations of the sea surface and in situ measurements of the water column.

Over the last decade, the ocean community witnessed the launch of over 30 new ocean-related satellite missions worldwide. Plans for new satellites aimed to improve the spatial-temporal sampling, are already laid well into the foreseeable future. Today, we are already considering Petabytes of data to download, manage, analyse, and transform into accessible information. Increasing computer power and understandings of relevant physical processes are also rapidly evolving, and contribute to advances in model accuracy and resolution refinement. The different satellite sensors can be combined to provide the required high spatio-temporal sampling using physically or statistically based merging approaches. Detailed information about the list of speakers and previous editions, see here.

The event welcomes researchers, engineers and doctoral students from all over the world to register here:

  • 300 euros (not valid without payment)
  • all included (transportation from Brest to Moulin Mer, accommodation and food from Monday to Friday)

BreTel in Brittany (NEREUS Full Member) is an Associate Member of NEREUS and is active in the domain of research and academic programs linked to the exploitation of high resolution satellite data for a better knowledge of the environment and an increase in security.
