WIA-E Rome: “From STEM to Stars” with Patrizia Caraveo

Join the first 2023 WIA-E Rome episode of “From STEM to Stars” webinar series on March 23rd!

It will take place on the Zoom platform from 19:00 to 20:00 (CET). The official language of the event is English.

Our guest will be Patrizia Caraveo, research director at INAF (Italian National Institute for Astrophysics) and professor of Astronomy at the University of Pavia. She has contrubuted to several international space missions dedicated to high-energy astrophysics, and her main field of interest is the behaviour of neutron stars at different wavelengths. Besides her outstanding scientific career, she contributed to the foundation of the Space Economy Evolution Lab at the SDA Bocconi School of Management in 2018. She is also part of the “<<Gruppo 2003>>” for the scientific research and of the “<<100donne contro gli stereotipi>>” (100women against stereotypes). She received several prizes and important recognitions, and actively encourages the participation of women in science. She also writes articles for several important magazines in Italy.

During the event, she will talk about her outstanding career and her involvement in activities in support of women in science, and in the last part of the webinar, there will be a Q&A session to allow everyone to directly interact with Patrizia!

The moderator of the event is Francesco Ventre, space engineer currently working as Innovation Manager of Confindustria Brescia and member of WIA-E Rome.
