Empowering all Women, in Space and on Earth

Launch of New WIA-Europe Regional Network – Hungary

WIA-Europe is excited to announce the establishment of our new Regional Network in Hungary!

This marks another milestone in our mission to support and empower women within the aerospace sector.

The Hungary Regional Network aims to foster diversity, inclusion, and professional growth within the country’s aerospace sector. This Regional Network will provide a platform for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and career development opportunities for professionals and aspiring talents in the field. By connecting industry leaders, researchers, and students, the Hungary network will contribute to strengthening the presence and impact of women in aerospace, while also promoting innovation and international cooperation. Through events, mentoring programs, and networking activities, WIA-Europe Hungary RN seeks to inspire and support the next generation of aerospace professionals in the region.

We are also delighted to introduce Réka Szabó as the Regional Network Leader. With a strong background in Space Engineering and active involvement in both local and international aerospace sectors, Réka brings valuable expertise and leadership to this initiative. She will play a key role in driving engagement, fostering innovation, and strengthening connections with local communities and institutions.

Please join us in warmly welcoming Réka to her new role—we look forward to seeing the Hungarian Regional Network thrive under her leadership!

I’m Réka Szabó, and I’m beyond excited to be founding the WIA-Europe Hungary Regional Network, a platform dedicated to creating a space for women to connect, collaborate, and grow in aerospace, space, and related fields, while also strengthening Hungary’s presence in the international aerospace community.

With a background in space engineering and mathematics, I’ve had the opportunity to study and work across Europe. Through these experiences, I’ve seen firsthand that talent and ambition are everywhere, but opportunities aren’t always as visible. This is especially true in Central-Eastern Europe, where we often underestimate our own potential. I want to change that.

My vision for WIA-Europe Hungary Regional Network is to build a strong, supportive network, one that fosters mentorship, lifts each other up, and shows women, girls, and younger generations that STEM is a place for them. I’m so proud to be bringing opportunities home while opening international doors for my fellow Hungarians.
