The Junior Professional Programme (JPP) is ESA’s brand-new entry-level programme for Master’s degree graduates with two to three years of professional experience. Junior Professionals join ESA as staff members for three years and benefit from tailored learning and development opportunities to prepare them for a permanent position at the European Space Agency at the end of their JP assignment. This is your opportunity to launch your career at ESA where space awaits you!
Who can apply?
To be eligible for the Junior Professional Programme (JPP), you must meet the following criteria:
- Graduated with a Master’s degree in an engineering discipline.
- Two to three years of professional experience gained post-Master. If you took part in one of our entry level programmes (i.e. Young Graduate Trainee, National Trainee or Research Fellow), the time spent at ESA counts towards the experience requirement.
- Citizen of one of the ESA Member States, Associate Member States or Cooperating States.
As Junior Professional, you will collaborate with interdisciplinary international teams, supporting innovation and future technologies at the core of European space activities.
In addition to your daily duties, you will take part in an extensive learning and development programme, including a rotation scheme giving you insight into different business areas of ESA as well as technical and key skills training courses.
Additionally, as a Junior Professional, you will benefit from tutoring by ESA experts, giving you all the support you need to launch your career at ESA.
Junior Professional positions at all ESA locations are now open. Find detailed information on the Junior Professional Programme page and answers to most of your questions on the dedicated FAQ page.
