WIA-Europe Symposium 2024 Event

Learn about the challenges and opportunities in applying transferable skills to space-related roles, strategies for developing and enhancing transferable skills for space sector careers, and examples of successful transitions from other industries to space-related careers. Event Speakers:

Vera Pinto

Vera Pinto Gomes, who works as a Policy Coordinator and Equality Coordinator at the European Commission Directorate-General for Defence Industry and Space (DG DEFIS). She currently works at the Unit responsible for Secure connectivity, Space surveillance and Applications. Vera’s main area of interest is business development, space innovation and social innovation.

Dr. Ioana Bratu

Dr Ioana Bratu is a business lawyer, academic and entrepreneur. She specialises in the emerging synergy ‘space law – artificial intelligence’. Currently, she is appointed as Assistant Professor at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam where she leads the space law practice, after having introduced the study of space law, part of the educational curricula. She is also the Co-director of the Law Faculty’s research center Amsterdam Law & Technology Institute and the Founder of AI ∞ Space Law Society, the only international global platform focused on advocating for the sustainable development of space activities in the age of artificial intelligence, while considering the core values of diversity, equity and inclusion.

Ioannis Lentas

Ioannis Lentas, an HR expert with experience in both private and public organizations, currently serving as the Seconded National Expert in HR for EUSPA – EU Agency for the Space Programme
