Dear WIA-Europe Members,
Many of us dream to cross the Karman line one day, but how to become an astronaut?
This is a reminder to join the unique opportunity to visit and take part to the Space Tour in Cologne guided by Maria Grulich the Cologne Regional Network Leader and ISS Crew Support Engineer and EUROCOM for ESA and other experts. This is a unique event co-organized by WIA-E Bremen and Cologne:
- Visit to the European Astronaut Center – EAC with various replicas of the European Columbus laboratory, part of the International Space Station (ISS); Console rooms for communication with astronauts on board the International Space Station; and a 10-metre-deep Neutral Buoyancy Facility (NBF) trainingshall, EUROCOM, ECOS ESA – EAC
- Visit Luna Analog Facility ESA – Luna facility brings Moon to Earth LUNA Analog Facility – Mond auf Erden – YouTube

Maria Grulich is working at ESA in Cologne, Germany as an ISS Crew Support Engineer and EUROCOM, previously as an ISS Payload Operations Engineer & Biolab Project Product Assurance Manager for Deutsches Zentrum für Luft-und Raumfahrt e.V.
Besides her job, Maria is part of the SGAC [Germany]2023 organizing team.
In addition, Maria recently became the local group leader of Women in Aerospace Cologne group. Maria participated also in two analogue missions at the Mars Desert Research Station and she participated and completed two events of the International Space University: ISP 2020 and SSP2021.
