Space Manager of ESA in Germany Receives most Prestigious Award
Jocelyn Landeau, Head of Corporate Communication Office at the European Space Operations Centre (ESOC) in Darmstadt received the Outstanding Achievement Award of the organization “Women in Aerospace (WIA) Europe” today. In her eulogy WIA-Europe’s Chairman of the Board of Directors, Claudia Kessler, emphasized the prominent engagement of the Frenchwoman. “Her professional job during the last 24 years alone would have been enough work for 3 people, however, from her first day in Germany on it had been top on her agenda to inspire girls and women for education and occupation in the supposedly male domain of astronautics professions,” said Kessler. It is thanks to people like Jocelyn Landeau that since the 90s the support of equal opportunities for all could develop extremely positively
also in astronautics. Jocelyn Landeau is married and mother of two sons. She lives with her family in Darmstadt.
